I believe that you can shift from anxiety and self-abandonment to a vibrant life that is aligned with your sensitive nature.
I know this, because I have helped myself and many others to do just that.
When I first realised that I might be highly sensitive, my identity felt less confusing. I had always felt simultaneously too much and not enough. I struggled with anxiety, low self-esteem, overthinking, fatigue, and addictive tendencies, and I felt a lot of shame and self-doubt because of it. Once I accepted that I thrive in certain environments and am drained by others, I was better able to manage my environment, thoughts, and emotions, and thus regulate my nervous system.
Having experienced the amazing gifts of therapy myself, I am committed to helping others who may be struggling with their sensitivity. I have experienced first-hand how a holistic and synergistic approach is vital for long-lasting healing, and I am passionate about sharing this with others.
I understand how daunting it can be to start therapy, so I’ll meet you with warmth and understanding as we start our journey together.
We might begin by discussing your values and goals for therapy, followed by a deep dive into your subconscious patterns, with a focus on how your past has shaped the way that you are today. Creative visualisation is also a core part of my approach - it’s incredible for accessing parts of the subconscious mind that cannot be accessed with talking therapy alone. I may also recommend somatic approaches like breathwork, meditation, or deep relaxation.
My values
01
Compassion
Compassion is at the heart of everything we do. We all have compassion within us. Every action, thought and feeling is motivated by compassion. I view every client (and every being) with love and compassion.
02
Self-Care
Self-care might seem to be a simple and overused term, but it can be life changing. If you care sincerely for your mind, body, spirit and environment, your life will bloom and unfold in unexpected and beautiful ways.
03
Connection
The power of connection shouldn’t be underestimated. The most joyful times in life life are when we feel connected to ourselves and others. Connection is a vibrant healing force in my personal and professional life.
Education and Training
I began practicing as a holistic integrative psychotherapist in 2019, having earned a distinction with the Reach Approach training centre in Sutton Coldfield, UK. My training was focused on the mind-body-spirit-environment perspective, combining talking therapy, creative visualisation, and nutrition and lifestyle support. I am also a meditation and breathwork coach, and have trained as a recovery coach for substance and alcohol use disorder.
I also hold a Master’s degree and PhD in applied music psychology, understanding emotional responses to music through the lense of cognitive psychology.
I have worked as a research psychologist and lecturer since 2012 and hold a fellowship at the University of Warwick, UK. I have taught medical doctors, healthcare professionals, counsellors, and psychotherapists about psychology, meditation, breathwork, and visualisation.
I also host sharing circles and well-being workshops that cover themes such as using the voice for healing and connection, recovery from people pleasing, and women’s empowerment.
